You're a detective working on your first case. You've been assigned a computer forensics task at your new department but... things are a bit low tech. With only the ability to view the suspect's notes and pictures you must find evidence in order to make a conviction.

This is a project I have been working on for just over a month so far. Now that I have most of the core systems in place I've set up a small puzzle that plays on a (very simplified) computer forensics puzzle to encourage  users to explore all aspects of the project as it stands.

How to use:
You use the arrow keys (d pad on touchscreen) to move your mouse around. Hovering over files, folders, or directories will change the mouse to a pointer. This indicates you can open or select whatever you are on.
To select or open something you must press X or the x button on touchscreen. If you press this in empty space in the directory then the directory tree will appear. The directory tree shows all of the upper level folders on the system and allows you to access them.
To close a file or return to the parent folder, press Z or the o button on touchscreen. This will close any files you are currently viewing, hide the directory tree, or return you to the previous or parent directory.

Extra info:
Any resemblance to real people, places, software, etc. is coincidental and unintentional.

Code and graphics produced by myself with minimal research and entirely without the use of generative ai. The question section was also made by myself and is used to help record user progress in exploring the files within the demo. It's not perfect but it should largely do the job. Answers should be provided in lowercase format for best results.
